Tips for Kicking chocolate
30/11/2010
Ok so it’s coming up to Christmas and everywhere that you look there are chocolates and boxes of chocolate biscuits surrounding you. You cannot help but walk past it in all in the shops and unless you are strong willed then it can be highly difficult to not be tempted by a bag of chocolate coins or an orange chocolate.
So here are my top tips to help you to stay away from the deadly dark stuff.. remind yourself of the following points every time you think about reaching for the chocca wocca.
- Chocolate is full of sugar and fat and this will make you put on weight.
- When you eat Chocolate /sugar this then causes your insulin levels to rise. Insulin is a fat producing hormone and thus when there is excess sugar in the body the this is stored in fat cells. Too much sugar makes you fat!
- When you eat too much sugar you end up robbing your insulin reserves in your body. Once you have used all your insulin reserves – you will need needles to give you extra insulin! Too much sugar can cause type 2 diabetes!
- Chocolate doesn’t make you feel better in fact remember afterwards it makes you feel rubbish... you feel guilty and you regret it majorly.
- When other people are eating chocolate you are desperate for some yourself, but remember that the people whom are eating the chocolate are also looking at you and wishing they had the will power to say ‘no’.
- Look at chocolate eaters with pity not envy.
- Remember chocolate does not improve your mood - go and exercise or do something fun to make yourself feel good
- Be free of chocolate – choose not to eat this highly manufactured and clogging food.
