Be green and lean....
24/11/2011
Start thinking about eating foods that are more 'green and lean'. So plenty of green foods such as vegetables and lots of lean foods like chicken, fish and eggs.
Green vegetables contain soluble fibre which helps to bind the excess waste and toxins in the body thereby cleansing at the same time.
Lean proteins help to keep blood sugar levels balanced by controlling insulin. They fill you up and help to curb cravings.
Carbohydrate intake needs to be dramatically reduced, especially refined carbohydrates as they get converted into fat in the body. I know these refined foods are easy and cheap but they're not good for you!
These cheaper foods are usually all the foods you find in the middle isles of any supermarket. It is bad because it has been refined to the point where they are no nutrients in the food any more (usually 80% of the nutrients are taken out). Plus they are packed with preservatives and chemicals to keep them on the shelves for longer. This means you are eating a non-food which your body doesn't recognise and your liver to process them.
The more natural state the food is in - the better :)
