"HELPING people to feel positive about themselves and get excited about life is worth so much more than money."
These are the uplifting words of local personal trainer and life coach, Davinia Gill (pictured right), who is launching a free Positive Living Club in Rickmansworth.
Ms Gill, who penned self-coaching book, Imagine & You Can, has helped hundreds of women to transform their lives and now wants to spread the power of positive thinking throughout the community.
Her club, which will host monthly sessions at The Cloisters, in High Street, is aimed at boosting women's self esteem and confidence and inspiring them to lead a life that is full of fun, love and happiness.
Ms Gill said: "The Positive Living Club will be a safe environment for like-minded women to come together to support each other.
"Using a holistic approach, including coaching, NLP techniques and small amounts of physical activity, this group will help you to feel positive, happy and healthy every day."
The 32-year-old was inspired to set up the club in memory of close pal Helwyn Wood, of Northwood, who lost her ongoing battle with breast cancer aged just 40.
Ms Gill, formerly of the Byewaters Estate, Croxley Green, said: "Helwyn was diagnosed about three or four years ago but sadly it spread to her liver and there was nothing more doctors could do.
"She was fabulous, such an inspiration. Even while she had chemotherapy she would appreciate the beauty of the world and the birds singing.
"One of my best friends, Lindsey Payne, also died from leukaemia aged 27 so cancer is a cause very close to my heart.
"That's why the sessions are completely free of charge - my husband, Paul Meades' accountancy firm has offered to sponsor us and pay for the hall, so I am simply asking visitors to make a donation to Breast Cancer Research."
Ms Gill, who now lives in Ladygate Lane, Ruislip, says dealing with the death of her close pals has been one of the most difficult challenges she has ever faced, but she found comfort in helping others:
"It was so hard losing my friends to such a horrible illness and I honestly really struggled to cope," she said.
"But it also makes you reflect on life and realise you should enjoy every moment, as you never know when your last breath will be.
"You have to change your mindset and I think by helping other people, you help yourself to feel good.
"A lot of people struggle to feel positive when they wake up in the morning but after one of my sessions, they would leave with a smile on their face and feeling inspired from within.
"These sessions are a gift from me to make others feel good.
"I think everyone should do something for free, such as volunteer work.
"As well as having such a positive impact on others, it lifts your soul and makes you feel truly amazing."
The Positive Living Club will meet on Saturday, May 7, followed by every first Saturday of the month.
